Job summary

Iron Mountain seeks a strategic Principal Electrical Engineer - P5 to lead the global electrical direction for its data center platform. You will govern standard designs, specifications, and risk frameworks while serving as the final authority on high-impact power decisions.

This role reports to the Data Center Engineering team and shapes long-term energy strategy. You will collaborate with executive leadership, sponsor research into new architectures, and partner with Supply Chain for

Qualifications

15+ years of relevant experience leading major electrical engineering initiatives in data center or mission-critical platforms.
Strong knowledge of utility strategy, HV/MV/LV distribution, generation, UPS, energy storage, power quality, and electrical codes.
Ability to establish governance frameworks and set global technical direction.

Responsibilities

Set global technical direction for electrical systems across the data center platform.
Govern global standards, specs, and design basis across sites.
Act as final technical authority for high-impact electrical decisions and platform risks.
Advise executive leadership on long-term power strategy and technology trade-offs.
Sponsor research into emerging architectures and partner with Supply Chain for owner-furnished equipment.
