Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors seeks a global technology leader to run platform engineering, infrastructure and operations, reporting to the CTO. You will build scalable, self-service cloud and AI platforms, own the AI and data platform run-state, and partner with CISO to ensure security and resilience.

You will also grow the Budapest hub as a center of excellence, lead senior leaders, manage budgets and vendor relationships, and drive adoption of platform services across the firm.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience building or operating enterprise-scale cloud, data or AI platforms and mission-critical infrastructure services.
• Demonstrated success turning infrastructure, cloud, data or AI capabilities into reusable, self-service platforms that accelerate engineering and business teams.
• Deep working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, modern data platforms, DevOps, automation, infrastructure as code and AI-assisted operations.
• Experience owning enterprise network and telephony, end-user computing, production support, IT service management and core services.
• Proven accountability for availability, resilience, major incident response, service quality and cost at enterprise scale.
• Proven track record in effective partnering with Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) anchored by sufficient understanding of core cyber security concepts, tools and principles.
• Experience leading and developing senior leaders within a large, globally distributed technology organization.
• Proven ability to build or scale an insourced delivery hub, develop local leadership and retain specialist technology talent.
• Ability to set strategy and translate it into clear roadmaps, operating measures and sustained adoption by internal customers.
• Experience owning a substantial budget and vendor portfolio, with strong judgment across cost, risk, controls, speed and innovation.
• Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills, with credibility among senior engineers, technology leaders and business executives.

• Lead two pivotal areas: overseeing shared technology services that power the business and building platforms enabling AI, data and business-embedded tech teams to deliver modern tools faster.
• Ensure reliability and performance of the firm's infrastructure, cloud platforms, end-user technology, and operational services.
• Transform infrastructure into a modern platform with scalable, self-service cloud, data and AI foundations to accelerate innovation.
• Grow the Budapest hub as a center of excellence for platform engineering, infrastructure and operations.
• Manage cost, budget, vendor relationships and the security posture of the platform and run.
