Job summary

Outpost seeks a Payment Operations Lead to own the data-driven and cross-border payments function. You’ll dive into transaction data to understand approval rates, routing, and costs, then work with processors, engineering, and merchants to drive improvements.

You’ll influence pricing, treasury, tax, and product roadmap with a strong emphasis on analytics and operational depth. You’ll collaborate directly with the founding team and engineers, owning economics, payments performance, and settlement

Qualifications

• A STEM or quantitative degree is strongly preferred.
• 3 to 7+ years in payment operations, analytics, or related roles.
• Strong analytical skills with Excel/Sheets and BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Build the payments system and agentic workflows, monitor approvals and declines, and document processor follow-up.
• Own payments performance: optimize approval rates, routing logic, and decline recovery.
• Own the economics: model cost, negotiate with processors, and influence pricing for merchants.
