Altum Consulting is partnering with a start-up, global health‑focussed NGO to appoint an Operations Director who will strengthen infrastructure for its international work. This hands‑on leadership role builds systems, ensures compliance, and streamlines administration across time zones.

The position requires experience in fast-changing environments, the ability to implement reliable processes, and strong supplier, risk and project delivery skills. Remote work with London overlap, start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Senior operational experience in start-ups or growing organisations.
• Proven ability to build or improve operational systems and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of technology and business systems.
• Experience overseeing compliance, risk and legal matters.
• Ability to establish proportionate controls across teams and locations.
• Strong supplier management and stakeholder communication.
• Experience leading people and improving team delivery quality.
• A practical, hands-on approach with attention to detail.
• Interest in evidence-based cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Responsabilités

• Review operational arrangements and set clear six-month priorities.
• Strengthen systems, technology and processes for a global team.
• Improve workflows and automation to reduce manual work.
• Establish controls and documentation across operations.
• Coordinate legal and compliance across jurisdictions.
• Manage relationships with tech providers, suppliers and partners.
• Support people operations and administration as growth continues.
• Lead operational colleagues with consistent standards.
• Identify risks and plan capacity with senior leaders.
