Job summary

Edwards UK in Burgess Hill is seeking an Engineering Manager to shape the NPI technical roadmap and lead cross‑discipline teams across mechanical, electrical, software, motor and controls.

Reporting to the VP Engineering Dry Pumps, you will build engineering capability, steer program delivery, and champion standardization and modular design to accelerate time‑to‑market and drive competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• Experience in vacuum pump development or complex engineered products.
• Proven leadership across mechanical, electrical, software, motor and controls.
• Experience creating and governing technical development roadmaps.
• Ability to translate market needs into actionable engineering strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams with governance across disciplines and ensure cohesive pump technology development.
• Maintain alignment between the technical roadmap and program pipeline, prioritise work and manage dependencies.
• Translate requirements into scalable engineering strategy while balancing cost and manufacturability.
• Champion prototyping, rapid iteration and data‑driven decision making.
• Develop engineering capability through targeted talent development and rotations.
• Influence portfolio and program decisions by presenting evaluated options to leadership.
• Promote standardization, modular design and component reuse for faster delivery.
