Job summary

Rentokil Initial Group in the United Kingdom is hiring a Network Engineer (EMEA & APAC) to maintain, optimize, and secure enterprise network infrastructure across regional data centers and branch offices. You will balance NetOps incident resolution with project delivery, including SD-WAN migrations and SASE rollouts.

The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco/Aruba gear, SD-WAN, cloud security, and ITIL-aligned processes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated regional NetOps or Network Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of enterprise IT governance, compliance and ITIL frameworks.
• CCNA/Network+ or ASCA preferred; ITIL Foundation beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical escalation point for L1 NOC, diagnosing performance bottlenecks and outages to maintain high availability.
• Lead remote staging, configuration and provisioning of branch networking hardware; provide remote leadership during rack-and-stack, cabling and patching.
• Implement network designs and SD-WAN/SASE rollouts per Global Network Architecture guidance and enterprise rollouts.
• Perform lifecycle patching, firmware updates and vulnerability remediation; conduct audits to ensure security baselines compliance.
• Monitor telemetry and health to prevent performance degradation and plan capacity.

Role Overview

The Network Engineer (EMEA & APAC) is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing enterprise network infrastructure across virtual regional data centers and physical branch offices. Operating within an ITIL-driven framework, this role balances Network Operations (NetOps) tier-2/3 incident resolution with Network Engineering project delivery, including SD-WAN migrations and Cloud Security rollouts.

Key Responsibilities

• Incident Resolution & Tier-2/3 Escalation Serve as the primary technical escalation point for the Level 1 Network Operations Center (NOC). Diagnose complex network performance bottlenecks, latency issues, and outages to maintain high availability.
• Infrastructure Deployment & Branch Engineering Lead remote staging, configuration, and provisioning of branch networking hardware. Provide remote technical leadership to field engineers during physical rack-and-stack, cabling, and patching phases.
• Project Engineering & Cloud Migrations Implement network designs provided by Global Network Architecture teams. Execute enterprise rollouts for Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture.
• Network Security & Compliance Execute lifecycle patching, firmware updates, and vulnerability remediation across all network hardware. Conduct automated and manual configuration audits to ensure 100% compliance with enterprise security baselines.
• Proactive Maintenance & Capacity Planning Monitor network telemetry and system health to identify and resolve performance degradation before impact.

Qualifications & Certifications

Required Qualifications Demonstrated professional experience in a regional Network Operations (NetOps) or Network Engineering role. Strong working knowledge of enterprise IT governance, compliance, and ITIL frameworks. Preferred Certifications Networking: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, or Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ASCA). IT Service Management: ITIL® Foundation Certification in IT Service Management.
