Job summary

Resonant is seeking a highly experienced Medical Device SME - Technical Support & Service Engineer to lead technical authority across laboratory and refrigeration equipment within the In-House Engineering (IHE) function. You will ensure reliability, performance and regulatory compliance throughout the equipment lifecycle.

Based in Chorley, this on-site role requires hands-on problem solving, calibration to ISO 17025, vendor coordination, audits support, and mentoring engineers to raise the

Qualifications

• Hands-on installation, fault finding, maintenance and repair of medical, laboratory or refrigeration equipment.
• Expertise in laboratory, medical and cold-chain systems, with refrigeration principles.
• Experience with HVAC systems—operation, maintenance and troubleshooting in regulated settings.
• Calibration activities aligned to ISO 17025 (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Strong diagnostic skills to resolve complex issues across equipment types.
• Experience in regulated environments (GxP, GMP, ISO).
• Accurate documentation and fully traceable records for audits.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
• Vendor/subcontractor coordination for quality and compliance.
• Mentoring engineers and leading technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for medical, laboratory and refrigeration equipment (cold-chain).
• Provide expert technical support, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Lead calibration activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure compliance docs.
• Coordinate workshop operations and workflow optimization.
• Lead team huddles and drive OTIF and KPI performance.
• Maintain accurate service records, certificates and ERP data.
• Support audits, inspections and regulatory reviews as SME.
• Coordinate external vendors and service providers.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes and service delivery.
