Job summary

Bowmay Consulting in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer to support a global engineering leader. The role involves regular overseas travel to commission and service machinery on customer sites worldwide, with home-based work when not travelling. You will read drawings, work with hydraulic/pneumatic systems and train customers, while enjoying a strong culture and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Time-served engineer or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering.
Experience in assembly or servicing of industrial machinery.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
Strong background with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities

Commission and maintain machinery across UK and global sites.
Perform emergency repairs, maintenance and service on customer equipment.
Commission new machinery on site and supervise contractors on large installations.
Deliver on-site training to customer personnel on routine maintenance tasks.
Produce clear technical reports and recommendations for further action.
Liaise with internal Engineering and Production teams regarding on-site issues.
Provide factory-based support when not travelling.
