Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Global Lifting Safety SME to lead lifting safety, asset integrity, and equipment governance across the Subsea & Surface Pressure Systems business. You will develop global standards, provide expert assurance, and drive hazard identification and risk reduction across a global operation.

You will influence leaders to strengthen lifting safety culture, support investigations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related technical field.
• Significant experience in lifting operations, crane management, and risk management.
• Experience developing lifting standards, governance and competency systems across sites/regions.
• Knowledge of lifting legislation and industry standards relevant to lifting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as global technical authority for lifting safety and equipment governance.
• Provide technical support for complex lifting activities via lift reviews and risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain global lifting standards and governance requirements.
• Lead global lifting assurance programmes through audits and performance reviews.
• Review lifting methodologies to identify hazard elimination and risk reduction.
• Integrate lifting risk management into permit-to-work and control-of-work processes.
• Establish requirements for planning, authorisation, supervision, and post-job review of lifting activities.
