Job summary

Global Lifting Safety SME in Newcastle upon Tyne area is seeking a specialist to lead lifting safety, asset integrity, and equipment governance across Subsea & Surface Pressure Systems. You will drive global standards, risk reduction, and competency programmes to ensure safety and operational excellence.

The role focuses on planning, supervision, and assurance of lifting activities, including lift planning, risk assessments, and engineering reviews within a high-hazard industry.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related technical discipline.
• Significant experience in lifting operations, crane management, and lifting risk management in high-hazard industries.
• Experience developing and implementing lifting standards, governance, and competency systems across sites or regions.
• Knowledge of lifting legislation and industry standards for cranes and lifting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the global technical authority for lifting safety, operations, asset integrity, and equipment governance.
• Provide technical support for complex lifting activities through advisory reviews, risk assessments, and engineering assurance.
• Develop and maintain global lifting standards, governance requirements, and engineering guidance.
• Lead global lifting assurance programmes through audits, assessments, and performance reviews.
• Drive lifting risk management integration into permit-to-work, control-of-work, and operational risk processes.
