Job summary

SimWest Engineering Recruitment is seeking an Installation Supervisor for international food machinery projects. The role is home-based in the UK, with travel to customer sites around the world, and involves supervising installation teams while performing hands-on installation work.

You will lead installation activities, read engineering drawings, coordinate with electrical and other engineering teams, and ensure safe, on-time delivery of high-quality equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience installing machinery on site.
• Ability to lead installation teams.
• Welding and sheet metal work experience.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate internal engineers and external contractors.
• Carry out hands-on mechanical installation work on customer sites.
• Lead mechanical installation activities to safety standards and project requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering, assembly and layout drawings.
• Collaborate with electrical and other engineering teams during installation.
• Identify and resolve installation and site-based engineering issues.
• Work safely with cranes, lifting equipment and slinging operations.
• Carry out welding and sheet metal work where required.
• Complete installation reports and site documentation.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Ensure installations stay on schedule and meet quality standards.
