Job summary

SimWest Engineering Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Installation & Service Engineer for field-based work across the UK, Europe and beyond. The role involves installing and commissioning industrial machinery at customer sites with regular travel and extended site stays.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical fitting experience, knowledge of equipment installation, and the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on mechanical fitting and installation experience.
• Experience installing machinery, capital equipment or industrial equipment.
• Good practical mechanical skills.
• Experience working on customer or construction/installation sites.
• Confidence working with large pieces of machinery and equipment.
• The ability to work effectively as part of an engineering team.
• Good organisation and attention to site paperwork, timesheets and expenses.
• A flexible approach towards travel and working away.

Responsibilities

• Installing and assembling industrial machinery and equipment.
• Mechanical fitting and alignment of equipment.
• Lifting, shifting and positioning machinery during installations.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical and engineering drawings.
• Using hand tools, power tools and installation equipment.
• Supporting complete machinery installation projects.
• Assisting with service, maintenance and aftermarket activities.
• Working alongside other engineers, contractors and customer personnel.
• Working safely and maintaining appropriate site standards.
