Job summary

Ashdown Group is recruiting a Head of Infrastructure in London. This hybrid role leads the global IT infrastructure and operations, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical delivery across cloud, on‑prem, and enterprise services.

You will drive modernisation and post‑acquisition integration, working closely with the IT Operations Director to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Hands-on technical leader with deep understanding of cloud and on‑premise systems.
• Experience in cloud adoption, platform consolidation and integration projects.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies and enterprise networking.

Responsibilities

• Lead global infrastructure strategy while remaining technically involved in daily operations and engineering decisions.
• Oversee and optimise cloud, network, server, storage, identity and end‑user environments.
• Drive modernisation, cloud adoption, platform consolidation and post‑acquisition integration.
• Maintain expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID and networking.
• Lead infrastructure engineering teams, MSPs and offshore partners.
• Own infrastructure resilience, disaster recovery, security and service management.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues and improve processes.
• Manage suppliers, budgets and cost optimisation initiatives.
