Job summary

Scott-Merrick is seeking a Head of Cloud & Infrastructure to drive a major technology modernisation in London. The role focuses on leading the move from traditional datacentre infrastructure to Cloud and modern Platform Engineering, while maintaining resilient 24/7 services.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure/AWS migrations, hybrid infrastructure, and building scalable engineering teams, with strong FinOps and observability disciplines.

Qualifications

• Senior- or head-level cloud/infrastructure leadership experience.
• Experience moving from datacentre to cloud/platform engineering.
• Experience with hybrid infrastructure and legacy estates.

Responsibilities

• Lead global cloud and infrastructure transformation.
• Drive major datacentre exit and cloud migration programs.
• Oversee Platform Engineering, DevOps, IaC and CI/CD practices.
• Ensure resilience, DR, major incidents, and operational availability.

Global Cloud & Infrastructure leadership role focused on major technology modernisation.

We need someone who has personally led the move from traditional datacentre infrastructure to Cloud and modern Platform Engineering, while maintaining resilient 24/7 services.

Key experience:

• Head-level Cloud/Infrastructure/Platform leadership.
• Major datacentre exit and Azure/cloud migration.
• Hybrid infrastructure and complex Legacy estates.
• Platform Engineering, DevOps, IaC and CI/CD.
• Agile/product operating models and automation.
• Resilience, DR, Major Incident and operational availability.
• Monitoring/observability and proactive operations.
• Strategic vendor/MSP/cloud-provider leadership.
• FinOps and demonstrable cost optimisation.
• Building and developing engineering teams at scale.

Please Note - This is a transformation role rather than conventional BAU infrastructure management .

London hybrid 2-3 days per week.
