Job summary

Fuse Energy, a UK-based startup, seeks a Design Engineer to lead design and optimisation of solar, BESS, wind, gas-peak and data centre infrastructure projects across the globe (UK, Ireland, Spain, USA, Australia), from early development through construction handover.

You will create layouts and configurations, optimise for performance and cost, produce drawings and specifications, support feasibility and grid connection work, and hand de-risked designs to EPC teams.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent experience in engineering (electrical, mechanical, civil, renewable energy or related).
• 3–6+ years of project design experience on energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience producing drawings, layouts and engineering documentation with standard design tools.

Responsibilities

• Create designs for Fuse Energy infrastructure projects from layouts to construction-ready packages.
• Optimise designs for performance, cost and buildability.
• Produce site layouts, drawings, schedules, specifications and core engineering documents.
• Support site feasibility, planning submissions and technical due diligence on new projects.
• Support grid connection design and review grid studies per local requirements.
• Produce bills of quantities and provide technical input to procurement.
• Hand over de-risked design packages to EPC teams and feed back into future designs.
• Drive standardisation of designs, templates and processes across markets.
