Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Group Financial Controller to lead consolidation and external reporting for the group, including the annual report and interim statements. You will oversee the consolidation team and ensure IFRS/UK GAAP reporting is accurate.

You will manage relationships with external auditors and the Audit Committee, drive internal controls, and implement new standards such as IFRS 18/19, while coaching the finance team in a fast-paced media environment in London.

Job description

• Lead preparation of external financial reporting, principally the annual report and accounts and interim financial statements
• Manage consolidation and reporting of monthly group financials
• Oversee the Head of Consolidation and team and the Head of Technical Accounting
• Ensure segregation of duties, key control execution, and communication with external auditors and the Audit Committee
• Own the consolidation and group reporting process
• Prepare consolidation and cash flow statements
• Review and approve consolidation workings, FX proofs, reserves reconciliations, post-close journals, and cash flow statements
• Manage communication and rollout of new accounting standards, including IFRS 18 and IFRS 19
• Assist with Sustainability standard implementations and IFRS 5 Discontinued Operations disclosures
• Serve as Chart of Accounts Board Chair with final approval rights
• Identify master data updates and maintain/develop the consolidation system
• Draft half-year and annual report accounts
• Act as key point of contact with the Group’s external auditor
• Draft and review Audit Committee and technical accounting papers
• Manage budgeting and forecasting for IFRS 2 charges, intangibles amortisation, acquisition liabilities, and NCI
• Coach, mentor, and develop the consolidation and reporting team
• Support ITV-wide D&I and social purpose initiatives

Requirements

• ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified accountant
• Significant years of experience within a Group Financial Controllership and Reporting team
• Essential UK listed company experience
• Significant expertise in drafting and reviewing UK Listed Group accounts, annual reports, and interim statements
• Deep accounting knowledge across all areas of IFRS and UK GAAP
• Extensive experience with month-end reporting processes
• Strong working knowledge of group finance systems
• Experience drafting and reviewing Audit Committee and technical accounting papers
• Strong relationship management skills to influence decision-making among senior stakeholders
• Media industry knowledge and experience is desirable
• Proven track record of team management
• Ability to prioritise high volumes of information requests
• Ability to build and nurture trusted relationships across the broader finance community
• Ability to prioritise mental and physical wellbeing during times of change
