Job summary

Carey Olsen is seeking a Group Head of Business Development to shape and own the firm-wide global BD strategy. You will drive growth across markets, sectors and practice areas, partnering with the senior leadership team and BD Committee to translate strategy into actionable plans and initiatives.

This is a senior, international role with travel to CO offices and markets as needed. You will lead a global BD team of 10–12 professionals, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure comprehensive

Qualifications

• Experience creating and driving law firm BD strategy into actionable plans.
• Extensive experience in international law firms and buy-in from partners/directors.
• Deep understanding of international finance markets (US/UK).
• Leadership and coaching of global BD teams.
• Extensive personal BD/legal network with industry connections.
• Honours degree in business/finance/economics/marketing/law.
• MBA or equivalent advanced business management qualification preferred.
• Active membership in professional legal marketing networks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership to co-create and own a global BD strategy.
• Translate strategy into actionable plans for markets, sectors and practice areas.
• Identify opportunities to drive new revenue streams across markets.
• Design and lead new business strategies and relationship development initiatives.
• Lead the global BD team and foster a high-performance culture.
• Coordinate BD skills training with the Knowledge team.
• Establish and report KPIs and BD ROI with the MI team.
• Champion the CRM system for data-driven business development.
