Job summary

Afid is seeking a Roaming International Finance Manager to provide short- to medium-term finance cover across a global programme portfolio. You will support Programme Managers and country teams to manage financial risk, strengthen controls, and ensure delivery of standard financial procedures.

The role involves budgeting, donor reporting, monthly close, cash management, audit preparation and capacity-building of national finance teams, with overseas experience and the flexibility to work in

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or equivalent experience.
• At least five years financial management experience, including two years overseas.
• Strong financial planning, reporting and donor compliance skills.
• Ability to implement robust financial policies and controls.
• Experience leading small teams and capacity-building.

Responsibilities

• Support country financial planning, forecasting and grant/contract budgeting.
• Monitor grant/contract spend, including cost-to-completion and spend-out plans.
• Identify and manage programme financial risks.
• Ensure financial policies and procedures are implemented across locations.
• Oversee monthly financial close and ledger accuracy.
• Prepare donor, client and country financial statements.
• Manage cash flow and exchange-rate exposure.
• Support audits by donors and external bodies.
• Build capacity of national finance teams and staff.
