Job summary

Afid is seeking a Finance Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract to join our close-knit finance team in London. The role covers budgeting, forecasting, reporting and donor compliance across UK and international offices.

You will develop and maintain Excel-based financial models, support monthly performance reviews, oversee payroll and VAT processes, and drive process improvements within a collaborative, NGO-focused environment with hybrid working two days in the London office.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with the ability to operate at Finance Manager level.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.
• Experience supporting overseas offices or international teams.
• Experience with project or grant-funded budgets; donor reporting familiarity.
• Excellent Excel skills for building and maintaining financial models.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and consolidate budgets, cashflow forecasts, management accounts and reports.
• Develop and maintain Excel-based financial models and budgeting tools.
• Review monthly financial performance with UK and international colleagues.
• Support donor financial reporting and compliance with donor requirements.
• Support payroll, VAT, year-end audit, statutory reporting and wider compliance.
• Improve finance processes and controls; assist transition of accounting software.
