Job summary

Afid is seeking a Regional Finance Officer to provide high-quality financial support to programmes across Africa. You will work with the Regional Finance Manager to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting and donor reporting, while maintaining compliance and timely financial statements.

The role is UK-based with a hybrid model and requires travel to UK offices. Successful candidates will have strong Excel skills and experience in budgeting/forecasting, month-end processes and grant-funded

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance role with budgeting, forecasting and donor reporting
• Strong Excel skills and ability to manage detailed financial information
• Experience supporting grant-funded programmes is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely donor financial reports and fund requests
• Develop donor budgets using the planning system
• Improve budgeting, forecasting, tools and reporting processes
• Monitor grants/contracts and assist with forecasting project costs
• Prepare information for donor and contract audits
• Support country budgets and anticipated donor funding allocations
• Assist month-end processes including cash, bank and balance sheet reviews
• Prepare journals, cost allocations and expenditure reviews
• Review and reconcile partner financial reports and payment requests
• Support programme forecasts and donor regulations compliance
• Coordinate with auditors and country teams during audits
