Job summary

QinetiQ Target Systems in Ashford, Kent is seeking a Product Support Engineer to join the Production Team. You will build, test, calibrate and service electronic systems for QTS and external customers, with occasional worldwide travel.

The role stresses fault finding from schematics, documentation updates and delivering technical support across the business. You should have a electronics qualification and be comfortable in customer-facing environments.

Qualifications

• Requires BTEC/HNC/City & Guilds in Electronics and experience in electronic testing.
• Comfortable working with customers on site and in customer-facing situations.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and methodical fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, upgrade, test, calibrate and service electronic system equipment at QTS and external customer sites.
• Perform testing and calibration of electronic assemblies and ground support equipment.
• Fault finding at component level and provide technical support across the business.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, drawings and test specs.
• Maintain accurate production, test and calibration records in line with quality requirements.
• Identify improvements to build, test and inspection documentation with measurable benefits.
• Highlight opportunities to improve ATE and Cirris test systems to maximise throughput.
• Create, review and maintain Production SOPs, inspection instructions and test procedures.
