Job summary

Meta Edge & Network Services (ENS) seeks a Network Infrastructure Design Engineer to design and deliver ICT infrastructure for global data centers and POPs. You will develop layouts, review standards, and lead cage/build-out activities across EMEA with APAC collaboration.

You will manage space, power, cooling, and cabling, coordinate with carriers and vendors, and ensure on-time delivery while aligning with capacity and roadmap plans. Expect 20–30% travel within EMEA.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience designing and constructing large-scale data centres or similar infrastructure.
• Experience with space, power, cooling, and structured cabling requirements for network/compute hardware.
• Ability to manage complex technical projects with evolving requirements and regional variations.

Responsibilities

• Designs, reviews, and optimizes ICT physical infrastructure for large-scale data centres and network deployments.
• Develops and enforces design standards, reconciling with regional codes and industry standards.
• Creates floor plans and layouts allocating space for network, optical, backbone, IP, and compute.
• Delivers engineering design packages for sourcing and capacity planning.
• Manages space, power, cooling, cabling, and inside plant delivery across facilities in EMEA, with APAC support.
• Assesses utilities, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, cooling, and power distribution.
• Engages with co-location providers to evaluate facilities and ensure design standards.
• Collaborates with APAC peers to align approaches and maintain standards.
• Works with design/planning teams to execute cage and data centre build-outs.
• Leads weekly syncs with external vendors, reporting progress and testing results.
• Leads site acceptance activities per facility acceptance standards across regions.
• Manages timelines and risks to deliver projects on time.
• Coordinates concurrent projects and vendor execution at scale.
• Collaborates with Meta teams on space/power delivery and deployment projects.
• Updates capacity tracking systems for edge/backbone cage and suite build-outs.
• Coordinates equipment delivery from Meta inventory to facilities and handles import/logistics.
• Aligns with network planning and investment teams on roadmap and forecasting.
• Regularly collaborates across time zones; travel 20-30% within EMEA with occasional long-haul trips.
