Job summary

Union Maritime in London HQ seeks an experienced Commercial Operations professional to oversee the owned tanker fleet across spot and period charters. Role demands five days a week on-site at the London HQ and a proactive, autonomous approach after induction.

You will coordinate voyage orders, bunker planning, invoicing, and ensure charter party compliance while liaising with Marine Operations and Chartering teams to optimise operations globally.

Qualifications

• Shore-based operations experience for tankers (min 3 years)
• Chemical tanker experience is advantageous
• Strong commercial awareness and decision making
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Able to work across a global team
• Willingness to work out-of-hours when required

Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial operations for owned tanker fleet across spot and period charters
• Coordinate voyage orders and agency appointments
• Manage charter party terms and ensure compliance
• Review tank cleaning plans and verify vessel progress
• Coordinate bunker planning for cost and time efficiency
• Review stowplans to optimise cargo intake and support pre-fixture tasks
• Obtain letters of indemnity for deviations from charter terms
• Maintain voyage data across systems
• Disclose information to support global team alignment
• Support growth-related projects for Commercial Operations
• Raise freight and hire invoices via Q88 VMS
• Assist claims with on-voyage costs
• Oversee EUA positions
• Be physically present five days a week in London HQ
• Be available outside office hours as required
• Operate autonomously after induction
