Job summary

Citi is seeking a senior data engineer to lead cloud-native data services using Databricks and Spark on AWS. You will drive migration to Databricks, optimize performance, and mentor engineers across the GRU tech space.

You will shape enterprise data capabilities, implement scalable solutions, and ensure secure, resilient architectures with AI-enabled features while collaborating with senior leaders and end users.

Qualifications

• Databricks – Lakehouse architecture, Spark, Delta Lake, workflows and performance tuning.
• Apache Spark & Scala – High-performance distributed data processing and optimisation.
• Cloud Data Engineering (AWS) – Cloud-native data platforms and distributed computing.
• Data Services Architecture & Engineering – Distributed processing, reprocessing, streaming and scalable data services.
• Engineering Architecture & Technical Delivery – Solution architecture, engineering governance, CI/CD and technical leadership.
• Experience in implementing projects.
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Demonstrated SME in Applications Development.
• Demonstrated knowledge of client core business functions.
• Demonstrated leadership, project management, and development skills.
• Relationship and consensus building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, engineering and delivery of next generation cloud data services.
• Drive transformation of enterprise data capabilities using Databricks and AWS.
• Develop methodologies and standards for program analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and implementation.
• Consult with end users to identify system specifications and incorporate into design.
• Coach developers, analysts and new team members; allocate work accordingly.
• Influence senior leaders and communicate with external parties.
