Job summary
AWE plc is recruiting a Customs & Shipping Specialist to handle international shipping requirements for imports and exports. The role requires applying Customs and Trade Control policies to meet regulatory obligations and maintaining high standards across safety, environment, and quality.
You will support the Shipping Operations Manager, liaise with internal teams and overseas offices, and coordinate with external suppliers for road, air and courier services.
Qualifications
- 2 years' experience in a shipping role involving customs and trade compliance.
- Ability to attain and maintain Government Developed Vetting security status.
- Experience dealing with imports/exports for EU post-BREXIT, particularly by road.
- Ability to work calmly in a priority-changing environment and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Deliver AWE's international shipping requirements (exports and imports).
- Apply internal Customs and Trade Control policy to meet external regulatory obligations.
- Maintain high standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality; be a team player.
- Support Shipping Operations Manager to deliver improvements and change programmes.
- Communicate with internal customers and overseas offices; coordinate with external suppliers.
