Job summary

cargo-partner are recruiting a Customs Clearance Clerk to join our Manchester Airport branch, coordinating import and export customs services within a supportive team. You will receive extensive internal and external training on customs legislation and foreign trade, with opportunities for career progression in a true international logistics business.

The role requires willingness to work 1 in 3 weekends with Friday off and Sundays paid at 2x, and offers a friendly, globally connected work

Qualifications

• Knowledge of import/export laws and regulations.
• Meticulous and detail‑oriented to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
• Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple customs inboxes to coordinate with clients and brokers to ensure documentation is delivered within KPIs.
• Create customs clearance documents using data from customer documents and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Communicate via phone and email to resolve shipment issues or discrepancies and submit amendments when needed.
• Create CHED, T1, GMR, SPOT jobs for documentation and billing as required.
• Calculate tariffs and duties and bill customs charges and outlay fees.
