Job summary

Wood Mackenzie seeks a Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, tax, payroll, and internal controls for its multinational footprint. This high‑visibility role requires hands‑on leadership in a PE‑backed environment with rigorous reporting cadences and lender obligations.

You will drive close processes, consolidate entities, manage audits, and champion automation across the finance function from the Edinburgh office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant license.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/controllership experience, preferably in PE-backed or leveraged environments.
• Strong GAAP knowledge; public company background a plus.
• Experience with M&A accounting integration.
• Experience overseeing payroll accounting in multi-entity, multi-country environments.
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to present to CFOs, boards, and lenders.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring GAAP compliance and timeliness.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and manage external audits.
• Oversee tax posture, including ASC 740 and local compliance across jurisdictions.
• Lead multinational payroll accounting and internal controls across the footprint.
• Drive accounting integration workstreams for acquisitions, including opening balance sheet and COA harmonization.
• Mentor and manage the accounting team; drive automation and AI-enabled workflows in close and reporting.
