Job summary

EBRD seeks a Managing Director, Communications to lead external and internal communications strategy, strengthening visibility and reputation across jurisdictions. The role reports to senior leadership, interacts with the President, and acts as senior spokesperson while shaping the bank's overall strategy.

The role manages a multi‑million pound budget, 50–55 staff, and sets strategic objectives for the Communications Department, including digital and AI-enabled initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive corporate/government communications experience strengthening reputation with stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking to shape forward-looking communications aligned with policy and political realities.
• Proven ability to manage sensitive communications and crises with sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic adviser to the President on internal/external communications.
• Lead development and delivery of the Bank's communications strategy across media and stakeholders.
• Provide leadership for the Communications Department and budget management.
• Advise on reputation management and crisis response.
• Build relationships with Board members, ministers and stakeholders.
• Act as the Bank’s senior spokesperson and observer in ExCom.
• Drive organizational transformation and adoption of AI-enabled communications.
