Job summary

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development seeks a Managing Director, Communications to lead the Bank’s external and internal communications strategy. You will be a senior adviser to the President and ExCom, shaping messaging and overseeing a large department with annual budgets and diverse stakeholders.

You will guide strategic communications across media, government, and public audiences, while driving innovation, governance, and AI-enabled strategies within a global development context.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in corporate/government communications strengthening reputations.
• Strong strategic thinking to shape innovative communications plans aligned with objectives.
• Ability to provide high-level political and stakeholder advice.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic adviser to the President on internal and external communications.
• Lead development and delivery of the Bank’s communications strategy across media and stakeholders.
• Oversee department cohesion, messaging, and delivery of communications services and events.
• Advise leadership on protecting and enhancing the Bank’s reputation including crisis response.
• Build relationships with Board members, ministers and key stakeholders.
