Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to provide technical support, maintenance, installation, and training for CNC machinery in the UK and internationally.

The role requires installing, commissioning, and supporting systems at customer sites, diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electronic systems, and performing preventative maintenance with on-site and in-house training. Travel is integral to the position.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Strong experience with 5-axis CNC machines, including motors, drives and axis alignment.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to travel internationally on a regular basis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and support the company's systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic systems on CNC machinery.
• Troubleshoot, install, calibrate, and maintain equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and deliver training to customers on-site and in-house.
• Conduct axis alignments to maintain machine accuracy and performance.
• Communicate effectively with clients to ensure issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain and calibrate service tools and test equipment.
• Handle a workload of approx. 60% mechanical and 40% electrical tasks.
