Job summary

CV Technical is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, service, and repair CNC woodworking machinery at customer sites across the UK. You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and provide hands-on technical support to keep machines running smoothly.

This role requires reading electrical diagrams, working independently in the field, and driving a company vehicle. Overtime is paid; a full UK driving licence is essential, and ongoing manufacturer training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.

Responsibilities

• Installation and commissioning of CNC woodworking machinery.
• Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support.
• Diagnosing PLC and automation faults.
• Providing operator training and technical guidance to customers.
• Completing service reports and documentation.
• Supporting continuous improvement and machine optimisation.
