Global Business Development Manager (Africa)

Offering £80,000 - £100,000 Basic Salary plus Car Allowance, OTE & Great Benefits

Our client is an established UK engineering manufacturing company currently recruiting a Global Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, build and maintain relationships, and develop strategic plans to negotiate and win new business, increasing revenue and profitability while fostering sustainable competitive advantage globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a global business development strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Identify and prioritize new market opportunities, partnerships, and expansion initiatives.
  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders including partners, clients, and investors.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, finance, and operations teams for successful market entry and growth.
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer insights to inform strategy.
  • Drive deal negotiations from initial discussions to final contracts.
  • Work with stakeholders to overcome challenges and meet company goals.
  • Engage actively in the customer journey, responding to feedback to improve satisfaction.
  • Establish and nurture relationships through networking, industry events, and trade shows; report risks, issues, and successes to the board.
  • Manage financial aspects including revenue forecasting and budgeting.
  • Provide regular, detailed progress reports to the Board and relevant business areas.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven technical sales experience in heavy equipment and/or transport industry.
  • Technical mindset with a solid engineering background preferred.
  • Experience selling into manufacturing or production industries is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills; data-driven decision-making.
  • Track record of driving international/global sales growth.
  • Experience working across cultures and geographies; multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% worldwide.
  • Leadership experience impacting strategic direction.

The position offers a salary of £80,000 - £100,000 plus car allowance, 25% OTE, and benefits. It is a full-time, permanent, home-based role with flexibility for 50-60% travel, attending UK Head Office and global client meetings.
