Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist to lead strategic process development projects in a global Biologics network. On-site leadership with collaboration across sites will drive technology changes and align upstream, downstream, and bioconjugation activities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in bioprocessing with strong downstream processing and manufacturing expertise.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary projects and matrix teams with minimal direction.
• Strong SME in at least two areas of bioprocess development and manufacturing.
• Experience with digital tools and advanced data analysis to improve bioprocess performance.
• Experience with multivariate data analysis, process optimization and root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• PhD or equivalent is preferred; advanced degrees highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary projects implementing technology changes and drive alignment across sites.
• Lead matrix teams across functions and locations, building stakeholder relationships.
• Provide SME across two or more areas of upstream, downstream and/or bioconjugation process development.
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges using data analysis and root cause analysis.
• Monitor technical performance across the network and address misalignment.
• Present technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders with clear communication.
• Coach and mentor scientists in Process Development and shape wider scientific direction.
