Job summary

Mistral.ai is seeking an experienced Benefits Manager to own and scale the benefits infrastructure across multiple countries. You will partner with HR, Finance and Legal to ensure offerings are competitive, compliant, and aligned with growth, translating complex requirements into employee-friendly experiences.

You will lead end-to-end benefits strategy, manage brokers and vendors, ensure local regulatory compliance, and design scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Experience managing benefits for multi-country organizations during hypergrowth.
• In-depth knowledge of benefits regulations in EU and/or US.
• Skilled in negotiating with external vendors and brokers for cost and service quality.
• Ability to design, document, and improve scalable benefits processes.

Responsibilities

• Own benefits strategy end-to-end across multiple countries, including enrollment, renewals, changes, and offboarding, ensuring compliance.
• Benchmark market competitiveness and propose local adjustments within Total Rewards strategy.
• Manage brokers, insurers, and benefits vendors: lead RFPs, renewals, and cost-quality trade-offs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across operating jurisdictions and adapt practices with Legal guidance.
• Design and enhance benefit processes to be clear, scalable, and well-documented.
• Leverage data to inform decisions with reporting and KPIs (cost per employee, participation, utilization).
• Support employee experience during enrollment and life events with empathetic communications.
• Partner with Finance for budgeting and forecasting and coordinate with HR Ops and payroll on deductions.
• Contribute to Mobility initiatives to keep immigration and mobility offerings compliant.
