DK Recruitment is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support customers and regional sales teams and to help develop new business across aerospace, oil & gas, space, medical and defence sectors.

You will define specifications, manage design collaboration, and ensure regulatory compliance, with frequent domestic and international travel to customer sites and events.

Formación

• Masters/Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (IMechE accredited).
• Qualified Six Sigma Green Belt.
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of FMEA and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with rotating machinery from an application perspective.

Responsabilidades

• Support customers and regional sales teams to develop new business across multiple sectors.
• Provide initial export classification and ensure compliance with UK export regulations.
• Define product specifications and coordinate design specs with design and manufacturing teams.
• Approve customer drawings (EDD) and specifications; manage change requests with internal teams.
• Initiate quotations with Sales; assist with complaints and returns analyses.
• Travel domestically and internationally to customers, exhibitions, and sites.

DK Recruitment are looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to support customers and regional sales teams, to facilitate the development of new business, introducing new products and to better develop the understanding of the applications and markets in which they operate – These include Aerospace, oil & gas, space applications, medical, defence and more.

Main Duties:

• Inspection and completion of the requirements specification in cooperation with the customer (Data collection form or other)
• Provide initial export classification for products in accordance with the UK export regulations ensuring compliance with subsequent communications and licensing where applicable. Carrying out/initiating calculation as part of application engineering using Mesys, initial design, and consider product development needs.
• Definition of the specifications for the product design
• Coordination of the creation and approval of the design specification in cooperation with the design department and manufacturing department
• Approval of the customer delivery drawing EDD and / or specifications
• 6 Eye approval of data sheets considering the initial customer requirements specification. Initiation of the quotation process (Special Enquiry) in cooperation with Sales e.g. Consultation and assistance in the event of complaints/cases of damage/returns analyses and initiation of optimization measures
• Decisions regarding internal requests for change and initiation of external requests for change to the product
• Assistance in evaluating deviations in production parts (e.g. MRB, Concessions)
• Initiation of innovative further developments in products and systems with supports based on identified market opportunities and customer requirements.
• Assistance in the generation of catalogues and technical publications for sector‑specific products in conjunction with the relevant areas
• Giving presentations and participation in specialized seminars and symposia
• Frequent Domestic and International travel to customers, trade exhibitions and other sites

Qualifications & Knowledge:

• A Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject accredited by the governing body, i.e. IMechE
• Qualified 6 Sigma Green Belt
• Detailed and practical knowledge of 2D/3D CAD methods, international standards for technical drawing creation
• Working knowledge of FMEA
• Experience of manufacturing processes and technologies relevant to our or similar products
• Experience in the functional and operational characteristics of rotating machinery from an application perspective
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Project management tools
• Fluency in written and spoken languages, in particular (but not limited to) French and German (Desired but not essential)
