Job summary

Averna, powered by Spherea, is seeking a technically engaged project leader in the UK to drive assigned engineering projects from kickoff through warranty closure. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams across systems, hardware, software, and production, ensuring milestones, budgets, and contractual obligations are met.

Regular UK and international travel is expected as part of delivering complex test equipment and solutions for aerospace, defence and high-tech sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex engineering, technology or equipment-delivery projects.
• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder-management skills.
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle (requirements, design reviews, verification, validation).
• Forecasting, cost-to-complete and change-control experience.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organisation.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer and stakeholder relationships, governance and progress reviews.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across systems, hardware, software, mechanics, production and procurement.
• Oversee handover from Sales and bid team; define scope, deliverables and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain project management plan, schedule, risk register and cost forecasts.
• Control delivery against technical baseline, schedule and budget; manage contracts and invoicing milestones.
• Identify risks and opportunities early and ensure proper escalation and recovery actions.
• Coordinate intercompany and international delivery and clarify workshare and interfaces.
