Job summary

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is inviting applications for the Trust Doctor (Glaucoma) within the Department of Ophthalmology. The role is based at Seacroft Hospital with sessions at St James's University Hospital, starting Nov/Dec 2026.

The post requires GMC registration and a license to practice by the start date, with at least four years of higher specialist training or FRCOphth and a strong commitment to patient care, teaching and research.

Qualifications

• Must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a license to practice by start date.
• Interest in glaucoma and ability to develop autonomy with supervision.
• Ability to assess patients and contribute to management of glaucoma and other ophthalmic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide a varied clinical role across glaucoma clinics and ARC.
• Work with Consultants and GMU technicians within a multidisciplinary team.
• Engage in teaching, professional development and quality improvement activities.
• Contribute to the Department's research portfolio and clinical governance.
