Job summary
Swansea Bay University Health Board is recruiting an Advanced Ophthalmic Practitioner in Glaucoma for a part-time, fixed-term 12-month maternity cover. The role sits in the glaucoma ophthalmology team and offers sessions with consultant-led diagnostic and treatment centres to develop expertise in glaucoma.
The ideal candidate will be a GOC/HCPC/NMC registered professional with glaucoma experience and possibly non-medical prescribing qualifications, joining a supportive, bilingual NHS environment
Qualifications
- GOC or HCPC or NMC Registered.
- Post Graduate Professional cert in glaucoma or independent prescriber or advanced practice portfolio.
- Teaching qualification.
Responsibilities
- Work as a highly skilled autonomous senior practitioner with expert glaucoma knowledge and advanced testing skills.
- Diagnose, plan, implement and monitor treatment plans/care pathways for glaucoma patients.
- Collaborate with the glaucoma consultant ophthalmologist and non-medical service lead for glaucoma.
- Supervise and give highly specialist advice to multidisciplinary team ensuring safe practice and governance.
- Where possible, non-medical prescribing within sphere of competence and follow prescribing policy.
- Attend advanced training courses to maintain and develop skills; deputise for the Lead for glaucoma services when required.
