Job summary

Adecco currently seeks a Research and Development Associate to join a glasshouse-based team in Bracknell. The role includes managing daily plant and seed production tasks, conducting experiments, and ensuring strict compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of plant biology and seed production methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data recording.
• Analytical, organised, and interpersonal skills with strong communication.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production and maintenance of plant and seed materials.
• Conduct experimental work using screening methods and record results.
• Maintain plants under glasshouse conditions for testing.
• Collaborate with Technical Support to uphold customer satisfaction.
• Develop skills through exposure to various production techniques.
• Identify efficiency improvements and participate in problem-solving.
• Keep records and databases updated with accuracy.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of screening methods and processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with DEFRA, CBD, QMS and HSE for GM and licensed materials.
• Demonstrate reliability and accountability in tasks.
• Potential involvement in test planning as required.
