Job summary

Armstrong Watson is recruiting a Paraplanner for our Glasgow office within the Financial Planning service line. You will provide technical and advisory support to the Financial Planning Team, including consultants and assistants, and collaborate with Leadership & Compliance teams.

The role focuses on research, suitability letter preparation, processing new business, and mentoring colleagues while maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge. A level 4 Diploma and relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

• A Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning qualification (minimum requirement)
• Significant paraplanning experience (a minimum of 5 years' experience is desirable but not essential)
• Knowledge of Conduct of Business (COBS)
• Knowledge of Code of Conduct (COCON)
• Knowledge of FCA Money Laundering – SYSC
• Basic understanding of audit, tax, insolvency, corporate finance, VAT and accounting

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to produce all kinds of advice for clients
• Compile suitability letters based on the advice given
• Process new business
• Provide feedback to Financial Planning Consultants on fact find improvements
• Support development of technical and research knowledge within the team
• Maintain and develop your own technical knowledge
