Job summary

Armstrong Watson in Kendal is seeking a Paraplanner to join the Financial Planning team. You will provide technical and advisory support to consultants and assistants, handling research, suitability letters, and new business processing.

The role focuses on maintaining your technical knowledge, supporting leadership and compliance teams, and contributing to high-quality client service within a values‑driven firm.

Qualifications

• Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning is required.
• Significant paraplanning experience (5+ years desirable).
• Knowledge of COBs and Code of Conduct (COCON).
• Knowledge of FCA Money Laundering SYSC rules.
• Understanding of other accountancy services (Audit, Tax, Insolvency, Corporate Finance, VAT).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and client service.
• Ability to prioritise under deadlines and work as part of a team.
• Full UK Driving Licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to produce advice for clients.
• Prepare suitability letters based on advice given.
• Process new business workflows and paperwork.
• Provide feedback to Financial Planning Consultants on fact find quality.
• Support colleagues with development of technical and research knowledge.
• Maintain and develop your own technical knowledge.
