Job summary

Cheshire Wildlife Trust is seeking a skilled GIS Officer to join our Data & Insights team. You will deliver expert spatial analysis, mapping and ecological data support across the organisation, developing geospatial tools, datasets and workflows to keep our evidence sharp and accessible.

You’ll work across teams to turn complex spatial information into outputs that non-specialists can use with confidence, ensuring data accuracy, governance and fit for purpose.

Qualifications

• Experience in GIS and spatial data management.
• Ability to turn complex spatial information into clear outputs for non-specialists.
• Understanding of ecological datasets and data standards.

Job description

We're looking for a skilled GIS Officer to join our Data & Insights team, providing expert spatial analysis, mapping and ecological data support across the whole organisation. You'll develop and maintain the geospatial tools, datasets and workflows that keep our evidence sharp and accessible - from mapping habitat extent and species distributions to supporting funding bids, reserve management and stakeholder engagement.

You’ll bring experience in GIS and spatial data management, with strong technical skills across relevant platforms and a solid understanding of ecological datasets and data standards. You’ll be comfortable working across teams, turning complex spatial information into clear outputs that non-specialists can use with confidence, and you’ll care about making sure our data is accurate, well-governed and fit for purpose.
