Job summary

Wessex Internet in Blandford Forum is seeking a Network Mapper to support site-based QA, GIS and data management for the fibre build. You will audit sites, maintain GIS data, and manage defects, reporting to Project Managers and collaborating with build teams.

Excellent attention to detail and IT/data skills are essential, with a full UK driving licence and the ability to work outdoors. This is a hands-on, field-facing role in a fast-moving fibre network.

Qualifications

• Experience within civils, construction, utilities or fibre deployment.
• Strong IT and data skills with ability to learn new systems including GIS.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify non-compliance and defects.
• Proactive, practical problem solving and good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site audits and quality checks across fibre build.
• Maintain and update GIS mapping and build data accurately.
• Own defect management from identification to resolution.
• Provide clear reporting to Project Managers on risks and issues.
• Produce toolbox talks and compliance guidance for build teams.
• Liaise with landowners, local authorities and operational teams.
