GIS Recruiter Ltd in Edinburgh is seeking a GIS Data Quality Manager to lead data governance and improve the reliability of our geospatial datasets across multiple projects. You will define data quality objectives, drive data owners' engagement, and monitor quality across the data lifecycle, including imagery and LiDAR, to support informed decision making.

Qualifications

• Experience improving the quality of remotely sensed 2D & 3D datasets (imagery, LiDAR) at scale.
• Practical experience implementing workflow tools/frameworks to monitor quality across the data production lifecycle.
• Domain knowledge in Government, Infrastructure & Utilities sectors.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Well organized with a structured approach to work.
• Strong prioritisation and time management with focus on delivering key objectives.

Responsibilities

Excellent opportunity for a GIS Data Quality Manager to join a dynamic geospatial data company. With a variety of mobile mapping capture projects to complete in widespread global locations, we’re looking for individuals who can help us improve the quality of the data and information assets we rely on and use.

You will lead the definition of quality within the data governance framework, ensuring all data, information assets used to underpin decision‑making across the wider business and externally - are reliable, consistent, accurate and aligned with the relevant data quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Managing data quality associated with geospatial data
• Define data quality objectives as part of the data governance strategy.
• Drive practical, collaborative engagement with data owners so that data quality objectives can be understood in terms of value, and successfully adopted into new ways of working.
• Identify relevant data quality standards, and objectively monitor progress against them - ensuring consistency and integrity across data and information assets.
• Evaluate and implement tools to support data quality management across the lifecycle (including being hands‑on with data cleansing and data validation processes).
• Share insights and improvement requirements, so that they can be prioritised as part of an agile development and release process

• Deep technical proficiency and experience of improving the quality of remotely sensed 2D & 3D datasets (imagery, LiDAR) and geospatial data at scale
• Thorough understanding and practical experience of implementing workflow tools and/or frameworks to monitor quality across the data production lifecycle
