Job summary

BNY Mellon is hiring a Germany Payroll Lead in Manchester, operating on a hybrid basis. You will oversee monthly payroll accuracy across entities and ensure regulatory compliance, working with HR and Finance to support tax and benefit provisions.

The role requires strong Excel and data analysis skills, fluency in English and knowledge of German payroll regulations. You will train and mentor junior staff and liaise with external payroll vendors.

Qualifications

• Experience leading payroll for multi-country entities.
• Strong knowledge of Germany payroll regulations and tax rules.
• Experience partnering with HR and Finance teams.
• Proficient in data extraction and reporting using Excel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time, accurate monthly payroll for entities within remit.
• Ensure compliance with country regulations and third-party payments.
• Advise Country Managers on payroll tax and benefits matters.
• Ensure proper posting to GL and financial statements across entities.
• Maintain controls and procedures for payroll processing and audits.
• Coordinate input for base salary, incentives, and benefit actions with payroll vendors.
• Review net salary calculations and issue pay statements timely.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and liaison with HR/Finance.
• Meet all regulatory filings and reporting requirements monthly and annually.
• Provide data to Finance for reconciliations.
• Document procedures to comply with policies and authorities.
• Lead client meetings with country stakeholders to review performance.
