Job summary

Portfolio Payroll is hiring a Global Payroll Country Lead – Germany for a fully remote role. You will own end-to-end payroll implementations and act as the Germany payroll SME, guiding legislation, processes and technical requirements for international clients.

Working in an international environment, you will manage stakeholder relationships, drive process improvements and collaborate with Product and Payroll Operations teams to ensure successful live payrolls across countries.

Qualifications

• Extensive German payroll experience within a client payroll, bureau, outsourced or similar environment.
• Expert Germany payroll legislative knowledge.
• Strong end-to-end payroll implementation and project experience.
• Excellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong payroll systems knowledge, alongside experience with reconciliations and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll implementations, from customer kick-off to go-live and handover to Payroll Operations.
• Act as the payroll SME for Germany, providing guidance on legislation, processes and technical requirements.
• Manage customer and internal stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear documentation of decisions and procedures.
• Develop and improve payroll processes, implementation plans and procedures to drive accuracy and efficiency.
• Mentor Payroll Generalists and collaborate with Product and Software teams on UAT and automation.
