Job summary

Whereby is expanding its People Operations team to manage Germany payroll and employee lifecycle across the country. This hands-on role requires German payroll expertise, bilingual communication, and a proactive approach to documentation and AI-assisted efficiency.

You will own monthly German payroll, support benefits and lifecycle events, and partner with global HR. The role offers growth into a more autonomous position within a fast-paced, scale-up environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a People Operations / HR administration/payroll role.
• Hands-on experience processing German payroll and working knowledge of German payroll regulations.
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end monthly German payroll processing on time and accurately.
• Be the first point of contact for German payroll queries in German and English.
• Administer benefits programmes for German employees and support renewals.
• Manage joiners, leavers, and changes within Germany and maintain HRIS accuracy.
• Produce clear reports and use AI/automation to speed up admin tasks.
