Job summary

Greenjets is seeking a Development Engineer with a strong aero-thermal engineering background and hands-on experience with electric powertrain components. The role is based in Germany, with regular travel to the UK to support development, integration and testing activities.

The successful candidate will lead system development from concept to production, coordinating across electrical, mechanical, controls and test teams while engaging suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in aero-thermal engineering or propulsion system development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, controls, manufacturing and test teams; act as a technical interface to suppliers and customers.
• Develop aero-thermal powertrain performance including cooling of motors, power electronics and batteries; manage airflow and thermal robustness.
• Define and own development plans, requirements and technical trade studies covering performance, efficiency, mass, thermal limits, reliability and cost.
• Use analysis, simulation and test data to guide design decisions and resolve system-level trade-offs.
• Support prototyping activities, including configuration definition, build coordination and rapid iteration from test results.
• Work with test teams to define tests, analyze results and drive design improvements.
• Integrate powertrain components and ensure aero-thermal, electrical, mechanical and control alignment at system level.
• Engage suppliers; evaluate components and transition from prototype to production-ready designs.
• Serve as technical point of contact for customers, translating requirements into deliverable solutions.
• Support production transition with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure robustness and repeatability.
