Job summary

Greenjets Limited, a UK-based propulsion system developer, seeks a Development Technician to build, integrate and operate advanced mechanical systems and prototype hardware. You will work closely with engineers to bring complex systems from concept through to real-world operation.

You will support the build and integration of large mechanical and pneumatic systems, ensuring assembly, testing and maintenance meet high standards in both workshop and field environments, including overseas

Qualifications

  • Background in mechanical engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, fitting and repair of complex or large-scale systems.
  • Strong practical skills in assembly, machining, fabrication, wiring and mechanical fitting.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems, pressure equipment and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and CAD models.
  • Comfortable operating workshop machinery and fabrication tools.
  • Experience with heavy or high-performance equipment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with lifting, rigging and safe handling of large components.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble mechanical systems and subsystems from drawings and instructions.
  • Fit, align and install components to meet tolerances and specs.
  • Integrate pneumatic systems and related hardware.
  • Support system testing, commissioning and operation in workshop and field.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and integration issues during build and test.
  • Carry out maintenance, repair and preventative servicing on complex systems.
  • Modify and improve hardware based on test feedback and engineering input.
  • Operate workshop equipment for fabrication and modification.
