Universally Speaking (US) is a world-class partner to the games industry. It's on US to ensure the game is ready for release. Our customers trust US to make sure that their Indie or AAA games are perfect before they are made available to gamers.
What will you do?
Play and test the games. Be relentless in testing, find linguistic bugs, and report them using bug databases. Clear communication in English is essential.
We offer both 0-hour contracts and permanent positions. 0-hour contracts are full-time and may convert to permanent based on performance.
What would you do at work?
- Ensure games and applications are linguistic bug-free for the best user experience.
- Check in-game text for accuracy, correctness, and cultural appropriateness.
- Follow Universally Speaking's LQA process and standards.
- Use bug databases to write detailed reports and ensure bugs are fixed properly.
- Own and manage bug fixing and implementation.
- Become an LQA Expert across various projects.
- Create and execute test cases throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in test requirement gathering with developers.
- Seek continuous improvement and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with the QA team.
Measures of Performance:
- Quality, speed, and accuracy of bug reports.
- Timely delivery.
- Teamwork and communication.
- Knowledge of LQA workflow and techniques.
You are a great match if you:
- Are an expert in German.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.

- Computer literate, familiar with MS Office.
- Have the Right to Work in the UK.
Useful but not essential skills:
- Experience in LQA, translation, or proofreading.
- Familiarity with LQA software tools.
- Knowledge of CAT tools like MemoQ.
- Understanding of the video game industry and trends.
- Higher degree in linguistics (desirable).
